Portrait of James Benjamin Pike Alien Abductions. (2022)
I began this piece in 2022 when I met my wife during intense close encounters that I needed to encapsulate. The story within this artwork is woven with the aliens I’ve seen—the hypnotic eyes that paralyze you—and traces back to 2006, when I had a psychic flash that I would die on the freeway, only to encounter a UFO instead.
This journey is reflected at the bottom of the piece, where I’m depicted drawing at my wife’s house, with a hybrid alien child watching me from behind a dark window. Thousands of hours went into tracing, thinking, and composing this artwork, with the hybridization program represented in the center, surrounded by students and embryos, and the original UFO I saw on the freeway in the top right corner.
Though I intended to keep working on the stars, I had to stop. This piece interprets the abduction phenomenon, a mystery that contacted me. Art is the only way to make sense of my experiences; nothing on earth thoroughly explains what I’ve been through.
