Surfing Nirvana in the Desert. (2016)
This was the beginning of me entering into a Dil ism phase. I wanted to see how many hearts I could draw in order to create a physical form in the two dimensional world so that it looks like there was texture. I remember showing this picture to somebody and they picked it up and you could feel all of the hearts that I drew on the other side of the page I push so hard. This is place to my heart of Baja. Scorpion on a big south swell can have a wave that breaks 3 km long and this illustrates that. My surfing grew down there Mateo is the Buddha. I tried to give them this, but couldn’t let it go as it just meant too much to me and I spent at least 1000 hours tracing hearts, coloring, hearts, these waves are meant to be about 15 to 20 feet tall. I like to mind these waves and ride them all the way into town.
