Aztec Sacrifice Tower of Skulls. (2009)

$2,500.00

I still remember the sketch that I saw that somebody in 1532 did, of an Aztec sacrificial tower of human skulls that was a cube that was over 30 feet high. I remember thinking to myself “how in God’s earth could something like that exist?” But here was the picture that an artist had done and I wanted to show how beautiful the universe was in the light and in the dark.

The pathway around the cube is for the sacrificial priests and the green and red colors on the other side are the fermenting blood. In the background is an Aztec pyramid with all of my favorite numbers written into it as magic spells.

Outside of that or black hole and supernova, collapsing in and out on themselves. This is the first I showed my father and this particular style when he immediately went and had it scanned and I felt like we were doing it for somebody else. He ended up putting it next to his bed.
